Burt’s Bees | Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
There are many new cuticle products popping up on the beauty market lately. I love to rub a cream or oil into my cuticles at night-time. Cuticle products provide moisture to the area around the nail. This can help prevent hangnail, provide moisture to sore/dry cuticle area and keep you manicure looking fresh.
Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
I bought this product in Shoppers for CAD$10 in May 2016. I love Burt’s Bees products because they are so natural, look pretty and usually smell delicious!
My first impression of this product was the smell. It smells of sweet lemons, its divine! I absolutely LOVE the smell! It’s quite a strong smell but its fresh and lemony and you’d nearly want to eat it lol! This product is 100% natural which is impressive. Some ingredients include Vitamin E, Sunflower Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Lemon Oil and Cocoa Seed Butter which all provide moisture and nourishment for dry, brittle cuticles.
However, I found the product to be neither a butter or a cream. I feel its more of a wax that melts into the skin when rubbed in. I have only ever used an oil on my cuticles and I love the moisture an oil leaves on my nail and cuticles. The product is packaged in a small round tin which makes it convenient for travelling. I found it very difficult to get product out of the tin, eventually I had to dig my fingernail into the wax to get out a sufficient amount of product.
Theres no shine when the product is applied and it soaks in right away
I’m not a lover of this product, I really tried to love it but I don’t. I feel like it does nothing. I used it every night for the past four weeks and feel like my cuticles are quite dry. When the product is rubbed into the cuticles it soaks right in without leaving a shine on the nail and surrounding area, I know some people hate that ‘shine’ look you get from other products. Even though it soaks right in, I feel like I got no benefits from it.
The only thing I like about this product is the smell. Even though I have read heaps of fantastic reviews about this product, personally I would never recommend getting it. I do love the brand Burt’s Bees, this product didn’t work for me unfortunately.
I have used the Gelish Cuticle Oil on myself and clients and I like it. I’m looking for a cuticle product to fall in love with. On my radar is Lush, OPI, Julep and L’Occitaine. If any of you lovely followers have any recommendations for me to try leave it in the comments below!
I hope you enjoyed reading my review of Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Let me know if you have tried it and felt the same way as I did. I would love to hear all your opinions.
Until Next Time,
