My review

Another Canadian brand I discovered when I landed in Toronto! I stumbled across this gem of a product when I was looking for a cheaper alternative to what I was previously using (Garneir micellar water with the pink lid) I used to stock up at home in Ireland with Garnier when it was on offer. So it seemed a bit cheaper back home! I’m not sure if it was the change in currency that made it look really expensive in Canada at the time, but I didn’t want to fork out the cash for the product. In hindsight, I mustn’t have truly loved that product if I wasn’t willing to even pay for it.. although I had used it for years, maybe a change was calling me!

In shoppers one day I came across the Marcelle 3 in 1 Micellar Solution on offer, a massive bottle of it.. so I got it to try it. What made the purchaser an easy decision was the pump dispenser – I love these bottles! So handy! Also the fact that is was paraben and sulphate free really helped my decision-making. I had never used or heard of the brand before, and I read no reviews, so I was truly taking a leap of faith on this one.

I would like to gently remind you all, if you’re not aware already, I wear a lot of makeup. Lots. Every day!

I remember using this product for the first time. Gently pumping down on the dispenser three times with one cotton round to extract the clear micellar water. The product came up from the dispenser without distress. I was happy. Using 3-4 cotton rounds, the product cleared away every scrap of makeup on my face at the end of the day. Every. Single. Bit. I was so impressed!

I wear contact lenses, they didn’t interfere with them or make them go cloudy. The skin around my eyes did not tingle. It took away waterproof makeup without scrubbing. You don’t need to shake it before using it as it is not a separated two-phase solution.

There is absolutely no scent to this product which is amazing! My only qualm is that is tastes disgusting, it’s hard not to taste it if you use it on your lips. Or if you’re getting a kiss on the cheek after using it, it will not be a pleasant experience for the kiss giver (Mr Marzipan learned his lesson long ago).. But one con against all my pro points – I can deal with that!

This is now my absolute go-to for removing my makeup. I LOVE it! I have repurchased several times and it is often on offer too which is fantastic! When I need it, and its full price, I don’t mind paying for it because I truly love it. I have read reviews that it is very similar to Bioderm Micellar Water, I have never tried that one but it is a good reference for those who have.

Thank you Marcelle for creating such an amazing product!
