Fenty Beauty | First Impressions

 

Yesterday I left the house bright and early to get myself into Sephora for the launch of Fenty Beauty. Fenty Beauty is a makeup line created by Rihanna. She has released a number of products including 40 shades of foundation.

My First Impressions of Fenty Beauty

I’m loving the concept of the brand. Rihanna has released products to give you a matte base, I picked up the soft matte primer, foundation and powder. And to top it off there are many highlighting products to shine yourself up to your own desired amount.

My first impressions on the products are overall pretty good. I’ll leave a link to my YouTube video below where I’m trying out the products for the first time. I have never done a “first impressions” review before as I usually use products at least a couple of weeks before I share my thoughts. I struggled with the foundation. It’s very liquid and I think I ended up using like possible five pumps to get my face covered to my satisfaction. The dense foundation brush I was using seemed to eat up the product. I quickly changed to a beauty sponge and it applied much better.

The contour Match Stick is fabulous. I got the shade mocha and it is perfect for the contour I like to achieve. It blends really nicely with the foundation. However, the shimmer stick Trippin’ I was struggling with. It lifted my foundation as I was applying it. I thought it would be a smoother, softer consistency. It worked a bit better when I worked the product into my fingers and applied it straight to my face. It’s a beautiful shade. I’m in love with the colour, but not yet the formula.

The highlighting products are absolutely divine! I’m looking forward to using these.
