How To Fix A Broken ColourPop Highlighter | Super Shock Cheek Flexitarian
Broken.
How I felt inside when my order arrived.
I think we all order makeup online with the fear that it might arrive damaged or broken. I’m glad it was only one out of four products for me. And let’s be real, there are worse things happening in the world to get upset over a broken highlighter. And that’s why I’m here writing this blog post, because the Super Shock products are easily fixed.
ColourPop seem to have a reputation for products arriving broken. There could be a number of reasons as to why so many orders arrive broken. For me I noticed this highlighter was the only loose product in the package, it didn’t have any padding around the product when the other products in my order did. Tragic.
Anyways, you’re probably here after having a rational thought to look up how to fix the issue, so we’re all on the same boat. Welcome to the club.
How To Fix Your Broken ColourPop Highlighter
Ok so first of all, the very good news is that the Super Shock formula is quite wet, but messy (when its broke). Please place down a paper towel where you plan on operating. Make sure your hands are clean, have some hand sanitizer and some baby wipes to clean up after.
Lets see what we have to work with..
It’s just so hard to accept, especially when you had to pay an extra $19 in custom fees.
The good news is, it is fixable!
Thankfully, you don’t need to crush up the non-broken part, nor do you need to arse around with alcohol and letting it dry overnight. You literally need to press it back together using a clean finger.
And Voila!
So it’s not perfect, pretty or Instagram worthy but the issue is resolved. I really wanted to create my usual untouched product pictures for this product, but these things happen. Instead, hopefully I have helped someone out in helping them fix their broken ColourPop product.
Please note that this procedure will not work with regular panned powder products.
Well, it’s not all doom and gloom and your money is not gone down the drain if you managed to salvage it. For me, it was totally worth it. This highlighter is AMAZING!
When my order arrived, I contacted ColourPop customer care immediately with pictures and they responded within 24hrs. They supplied me with a code for the cost amount of the highlighter, a code which expires in three months and can not be used during promotional periods. Unfortunately I will probably never use the code but I’m happy I figured out how to fix the product.
Hopefully you arrived here and learned something new. I hope there are not many others out there suffering from damaged products. I don’t intent to “hate” on ColourPop whatsoever, in fact they have become one of my favourite cosmetics brands. It’s just unfortunate that ColourPop arrived broken. I’m just keeping it real over here on ABM.
Let me know if this post has helped you, or if you have any other questions. Hopefully your situation with broken product is salvageable and not too dramatic. Any traumatising online shopping orders? I wanna know in the comments..!
Thankfully these products are “Made In The City Of Angels” but once they leave LA, there’s nobody looking over them anymore.
This is a very helpful post! <3
