Mothers Day Gift Guide 2019
Don’t panic! Mothers Day falls on different days of the year in different countries. If you’re in Ireland (like me) Mothers Day will be on March 31st. If you’re in North America (and maybe everywhere else other than Europe (not sure)) Mothers Day is in May! I learned this the hard way. Living two years in Canada, and two years in Australia, and Mother Marzipan being back in Ireland, the poor thing always got a last minute card sent.
Not this year! I’m finally back and I’ve everything organized! I want to share with you all the perfect gifts that I’ve come across for this years Mothers Day.
You can never really go wrong with classic jewellery. I have three Irish jewellery brands I would like to chat about and show you a few bits that would be perfect for any mother out there. I think these would especially be special for the Irish mammies who are Irish but living abroad, or have Irish heritage in the family. Each of the jewellery stores I’ve listed below ship worldwide.
I recently came across Irish Green Jewelry and was instantly drawn to the brand. I often get questions about claddagh, and where the best place would be to buy claddagh themed jewellery. It’s really nice to have somewhere I can recommend AND give a discount code for my followers! Irish Green Jewellery were generous enough to offer my followers 10% off with the code MARZIPAN10. They are currently doing free worldwide shipping.
These earrings are inspired by the Irish traditional claddagh ring which symbolize love, friendship and loyalty. As you can see, the sterling silver claddagh design houses the most ample Connemara marble which is unique to each piece. What I love even more about these earrings is that they are reversible!
As you can see in the picture above, I have easily removed the earring hooks to show both sides of the earrings. The tradition with the claddagh ring is that it is to be worn a certain way to symbolize if you are single or married. I like to think of these earrings carry the same concept and you can wear them whichever way has a special meaning to you.
These would make a fabulous gift to any mother out there this mothers day especially if they love old Irish traditions like the claddagh.
Newbridge is an Irish brand that creates jewellery, giftware and homeware. I have been a long term fan and a huge supporter of the brand from a very young age. Newbridge have brought out many amazing collections and can be explored on their website.
Take a look at this beautiful blue sapphire locket from Newbridge’s Memory Lane Collection, keeping precious memories alive for all mothers out there. This locket can hold a photo inside. The chain length is quite long and the lockets blue sapphire stone is very eye-catching. There are also matching earrings.
I know I would be delighted with a gift like this. These earrings are also available in a purple stone. Shipping worldwide, shop now on newbridgesilverware.com
The Temple Wolf is an Irish based store that also ships worldwide. I have purchased many items from the Temple Wolf, but the most treasured piece I’ve gotten from them would be their Éire Collection.
Again, aiming at the Irish mother who is living abroad, this would be an absolutely ideal gift for her. I know when I was living away from Ireland I wore my Éire pieces from The Temple Wolf non-stop.
When you buy a ticket to an event for you mother, it’s not a physical gift, but you have created time to spend together creating emotional connection and precious memories. Here are a few events happening local to me, and maybe you’ll be able to find similar themed events to bring your mother along to on Mothers Day.
Mothers Day Event hosted by Daily Diva & Stuart’s Select Style.
This is where you’ll find myself and Mother Marzipan this Mothers Day. We can not wait to attend! It appears as though its going to be an amazing day.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased here: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/mothers-day-afternoon-tea-with-daily-diva-stuarts-select-style-tickets-55227174967?fbclid=IwAR3XFRqZN0_BNbIz5qbJdyFycy0ncU_ryLTf4xtz5U2Lqc_8tfFyjHA63Yg
Sooth & Swirl – March 30th
Yoga, wine and amazing food.. sound like your mothers ideal day out? Celebrate a day early with highly experienced (and extremely lovable) yoga instructor Alma, and dine with the amazing chef Lilly Higgins.
I recently went on a yoga retreat with Alma, and also dined with Lilly Higgins and I can not recommend them more. You sure are in for an amazing day if you decide to get tickets for this event! Please see the picture above for all the information you need, and how to get your hands on tickets.
Say Yes To Happiness Event – May 25th
Pauline Rohdich is hosting Say Yes To Happiness on May 25th in Cork. The seminar is based on the bestselling book Happy For No Reason by Marci Shimoff. Sounds like an event your mother would enjoy. Plan ahead for Mothers Day and give her something to look forward to. An event you will both enjoy! I really feel like nothing beats a day out together.
I am extremely lucky to have a discount code to supply to all of you if you are interested in attending (I will be there myself!) Use the code “Special” when booking your tickets online. For the beauty lover mother, you cant go wrong with treating her to some new cosmetics.
Lancome – Gift With Purchase
I recently purchased this offer myself and I can not recommend it enough! You need to purchase minimum two products (three for a bonus item) and one item needs to be a skincare product. In return, you receive an excellent gift full of goodies for free! These gift with purchase ideas are great because you get to spoil your mother for a fraction of the price!
I hope you enjoyed my Mothers Day Gift Guide for 2019. I know many of the items above are local to me but hopefully they will spark an idea to look for events or products on offer near to you! I would love to know what you’ve gotten for the leading lady in your life :)
Happy Mothers Day to all the amazing Moms out there!
